The Friday Media Group brand was born in 1975 with the launch in Sussex of the UK’s first free classified paper. From the start, founders Chris and Liz Kidger loved the idea of bringing together buyers and sellers in a simple, low-cost way.
Wightbay.com launched in 2003 and soon developed into one of the Isle Of Wight's leading classified websites. Today over 10,000 ads are placed online each week, attracting a total of 1 million visitors per year.
We’re still passionate about recycling unwanted goods, upcycling and re-use. And we’re here to help you sell no-longer-needed belongings, or find the perfect item at an amazing price. Our aim is to provide a great customer experience and deliver what we call the Friday Feeling!

Wightbay is part of Friday Media Group - a fast-growing independent business with 380 staff and offices in the UK, Spain and the US. Our head office is in Sayers Common, West Sussex, close to Brighton.
We own over 90 websites specialising in marketplace selling, hobbies and lifestyle, recruitment, motoring and e-commerce, and we print the weekly Wightbay publication. We also operate successful commercial print, video and website design areas of the business.
