The sixth annual Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair will take place in the stunning grounds of Wolverton Manor, Shorwell, IW on Saturday 14th May 2016. 11.30am to 8.00pm.
Very pleased to announce our special guest at Wolverton Folk & Blues this year... award-winning bluesman from the USA… EUGENE ‘HIDEAWAY’ BRIDGES.
Soul drenched Rhythm & Blues at its danceable best.
Born in New Orleans, seven times USA Blues Music Award nominee Eugene Bridges is a towering presence; a big man with a huge voice and great guitar skills. This legendary blues guitarist is a superb entertainer in the style of BB King and Robert Cray, playing an unparalleled brand of blues; oozing enough genuine charm to light up a small city.
If you like your blues music laced with soul, funk, gospel and rock, delivered with buckets of class and warmth, then Eugene and his band should not be missed.
As well as the Main Stage, the popular 'Beer Tent Acoustic Stage' will make a welcome return this year providing a full and varied programme, featuring some of the best Folk & Blues musicians the Isle of Wight has to offer.
Bands/Artists confirmed so far include Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges Band, Cajundaze, The Gramophone Party, MoonShiners, Spike Oatley, Damien Paul Band, The Dollymopps, Claydon Connor, Wight Ukers, Holly Kirby, The Nick Cane Band, Pete's Sake, Figjam, Anna Rice plus more to be announced.
With an IW real ale beer tent, BBQ, Tea Tent, children’s activities, craft stalls, Circus Skills and Morris Dancing, The Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair looks set to be a great opportunity to enjoy top live music and great festival food, set against the backdrop of the beautiful West Wight scenery.
