Are you interested in helping people reduce their energy and water use and save money on their utility bills?
Southern Housing Group’s Home Energy Advice Team helps residents understand their energy use and reduce their utility bills. We are looking for a motivated and outgoing volunteer to help the service deliver high quality face-to-face advice to residents.
Working with qualified Southern Housing Group employees, the volunteer will perform home energy visits to give advice on managing fuel bills, using heating systems efficiently, finding energy grants and discounts, and install simple energy saving measures.
The volunteer will have the opportunity to gain a City and Guilds Level 3 in Energy Awareness, a well-recognised certification in the energy advice industry, and go on to carry out their own visits.
This is an excellent opportunity for a volunteer to develop skills in sustainability, energy efficiency, advice-giving and working with a diverse range of people.
As a volunteer with us you will have the opportunity to receive free training, experience of working in a front-line advice role and references for potential employers.
